Dragon Lairs are almost always invite only. They are 13-slot raids with a 5 hour time limit. Fair Share must be met to get any decent loot, where fair share is 10M on N, 50M on H, 100M on L, 150M on NM. It is very poor form to tag a lair. If you can't do FS, you shouldn't take a slot from someone who can. You won't get but a few common teeth, and the slot is wasted for someone who could have helped end the raid within the time limit.
Higher end folks than me prefer to do NM lairs all the time, for the rare Derek's armor drops. I find that making 150M in one big shot costs too much stamina and/or stamina potions to justify the returns.
Normal Lairs, with only a 10M FS, drop a lot of orange gear found on other bosses, and golden wyrm armor, and the CK magic. They also drop the DL essence itself if you are lucky. Otherwise you get it by finishing quest Valanazes in the end of z9.
